Forget "Thinking outside the Box"  

Create your own Box!

The phrase: "Think outside the box" was introduced into "Corporate-Speak" a few years ago. 

The idea behind the phrase is that we should not be bound by "traditional ways" of doing things and should allow our creativity to blossom while thinking up solutions to problems in our everyday work life. 

While this concept has it's merits, the phrase is surprisingly accurate as to the Corporate environment and how it is set up. In many cases, you are in a box, literally! Your cubicle is as confining as a box and just as constricting, psychologically speaking. 

If (as Corporate America would have you believe) you are stuck in a box, and they are trying to get you to think outside the box, why not go a little further than thinking outside the box?

Why not create your own box?

What I'm talking about here is the idea of escaping the Corporate "Box" or way of earning money and build your own box!

Now, building your own box, or Home Based Business takes a few important personality traits. Let's find out if you have these traits.

In order to create your own box and be a successful Home Based Business Owner, you must:

• Be willing to take risks

• Be persistent

• Be a doer

• Be aggressive in achieving goals  

• Be disciplined

• Be continuously (self) motivated

• Be organized

• Have a vision and a plan to achieve it 

• Be willing/able to work in solitude 

• Have the ability to continue following your plan even when things fall apart

• Develop a schedule for working

• Have a very important "why". If you have the "why", you'll figure out the "how"!

• Be willing to learn and grow by reading about how others have made it

• Keep yourself updated on the latest technologies and tools to advance your business

There are a whole host of other things that will enable you to "build your own box" and they are all literally at your fingertips.

One of my basic beliefs is, "If I don't know how, I can find out how". (or at least find someone who knows how and pay them for the knowledge or service) 

While building a Home Based Internet Business may be your goal, remember the Internet's incredible reach in finding the people, tools and resources to help you in your "box-building project"!

If you keep this in mind, you'll rarely hit a snag in the building of your box.
