The 5 Secrets of my Success
by Ken Silver

Had a friend around tonight. He's a talented classical guitarist of world standard, a skilled cartoonist who drew clever caricatures of animals and sold them, the writer of a published teaching book.

And now he's a disgruntled school teacher wanting direction and focus.

His quest was the reason I'm writing this week's newsletter because I see many others like him out there.

Talented and able people - who can't find their way to profit. Like my school teacher friend, they have too many talents and interests to select from. And it confuses them.

Others like me have only one or two gifts, so the journey is much easier.

So let me tell you how I achieved my small success on the net, and how you can too. No matter how skilled you are!

MY STORY
I've been on the internet selling my products and services for the best part of 5 years. In most web circles I would be called an "oldie." That doesn't make me any wiser, but I have seen a lot happen in this time.

And what I have seen about successful net business will no doubt surprise you. It's not what you think.

If you want to make serious money on the net, you must follow my path - proven!

Here's why.

The net has produced a steady stream of bright boys and girls... people whose minds have dreamed and performed incredible marketing. But many of those have crashed... seen their products, methods and income dwindle to almost nothing.

"All flash and no cash" is how I like to put it.

Many developed and used systems and methods have been successful on the web in their time, but now are old fashioned and useless. That's because they were part of the frenzied fast-time
methods back in those days. You probably know the sort I mean... an enormous rush of publicity, fancy brochure web pages, rapid result marketing methods and approaches that have even me gasping with admiration.

Yet the real secrets of the web remain hidden. Except to a few... mainly people like me who diligently plod along, tortoise-like, making increasing amounts of money and friends.

Succeeding despite all the flash.

Confession time: I've never had the personality of a trader... never been one of those people who jump in and out of opportunities and make considerable amounts of money along the way. In a sense I'm more like Warren Buffet  (oftentimes the richest man in the world), investing in solid, stable opportunities, doing business the old-fashioned way.

While the fast hare traders come and go, I plod along, making a more-than-comfortable living. Avoiding much of the risk that comes with fast-moving opportunity.

Is this a good thing? I don't know. We all have different rates of progress and acceptance of risk.

My slower ways to a fortune are secure. Not shooting star. I may never get to make a billion, but then again, I'll never lose it fast either, like so many risk takers.

Here's how I've built a nice little profitable mini-empire by avoiding all the usual problems of business.

I did it by:

  - Having little risk (almost nil to be exact).
  - Having barely $200 a month in expenses (as little as
$13 at the beginning), and earning as much as
$13,000 a week (yes - my best week ever!)
  - Still only working an hour or two a day. Don't let
anyone tell you that success on the net is hard work.
It isn't... it's CLEVER work. And this newsletter tells
you how, week after week, if you listen and apply.

I've done it this way, mainly using these 5 methods:

1. I've mainly concentrated on 'how-to' manuals.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is the equivalent of Warren Buffet's stock market
success in industrial stocks, and his choosing large,
secure, uninteresting business to invest in - those like
Coca-Cola and newspapers. My choice of 'how-to'
books are the solid, secure foundations of the writing
market. Children's books (is there a Harry Potter in you?)
come and go, popular fiction is almost impossible to
succeed in, but technical manuals that show others
how to complete a task will always be in demand.
Steady and sure income. Boring even.

2. I've written 4 manuals, one of over 400 pages.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The first two covered areas of uncontrolled investment
(yes - gambling!) and money management, that helped
others improve their circumstances. These were written
to assist others, and as a result I had only 6 returns for
the many thousands I sold over the years. How-to
books are winners!

3. I used previous successes to build my enterprise.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The third manual: "How To Make $100,000 A Year Part-
Time Creating Your Own How-To Manuals At Home" was
a book on how others could succeed in the same way I
had previously. I showed everything I knew and wrote from
practical experience. This manual sold well by mail, and
then a couple of years later I started selling on the net.
The result from those also-successful years was the best-
selling "eBook Secrets: How To Create & Sell Your Own
Profitable eBook Using Free & Nearly-Free Programs."
Can you see how I wrote about real-world success as I
achieved it? This was, and is, a winning strategy.

4. I built a list that I sold to again and again.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I kept all the names and addresses of all my purchasers.
This created a list - currently scattered about over several
computers and mailing list systems that one day I will
bring together - that had confidence in me. I sold to this
willing list over and over again, in various ways.

5. I developed more products and services.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This is probably the most important part of my enterprise
story. You can't make a living on one product unless
you're very clever (and I'm not). You need many income
streams. And your enterprise becomes more powerful
because your prospects now perceive you as a fully-
fledged business instead of a one off, possible fly-by-
nighter. More products on offer shows you take your
business seriously.

Added to these 5 secrets were a host of smaller, detailed success strategies that I'll unfold to you in future issues.

Combined together, they make an irresistible method for success on the internet.

If you haven't written your first manual, close this newsletter and open your word program. The title will come almost instantly and you can get started on your first page.

How will this happen?

Because you've read my manuals and know that your strongest strength is the part of your life or work that you know most about. Write about it and you'll soon be on your way to a profitable selling manual. Just as I hope my teacher friend will too.

Just don't get sidetracked by some flash ideas or your multiple talents. Stay focused on the simple and do-able.

To your success!
